第一,词汇量要充足。

词汇量多少很大程度上决定作文是否能写得下去,很多时候想到一个很好的句子或文字,但一下子词汇不记得了,没法写。

第二,审题要充分。

学生在写英语作文时,普遍存在这样一个情况:看完作文题,就开始写,想到哪写到哪,只要把字数凑够了就停笔了。这样写出来的文章,看起来就像在记流水帐,没有任何逻辑,杂乱无章,毫无条理,同时容易出现用错时态、用错格式等的情况。试想,如果你是试卷的命题人,你出作文题的时候,肯定有出这道题的独特的道理。所以仔细审题和构思就成了写作的第一步。审题的重点放在写作体裁、格式、字数方面,确保第一遍审题就能保证得到基本分。同时还要文体和时态,因为不同的文体要求的写作格式也是不同的.,时态的要求也非常重要。

第三,提纲要详细。

审完题后一定要列提纲。很多学生认为,中考英语作文译成中文,最多是小学二年级的语文作文水平,所以根本没有必要列提纲。其实,这种想法是非常错误的,因为提纲不仅能使文章的结构清晰,还有很重要的一点:防止漏掉作文内容。因为中考英语作文有一个很重要的要求:要点要全。如果你漏掉了需要写的内容,即使文章写得再优美,用词再准确,也拿不了高分。最后要注意打草稿,然后修改。这样可以保证错误降低至最少或者没有错误,同时也能保持卷面整洁。

第四,文化差异要注意

我们要时刻牢记一点,中英文表达方式有很大的差异,所以体现在作文表达上也常常会出现生硬的中国式作文表达,降低了我们的作文质量。所以注重中英语言差异,并努力找到两者之间的表达方式上的共通点,并且有意识的运用就能避免类似的问题。

第五,细节错误要摒弃。

很多孩子在写作文时常常感觉写得非常好,用上了几个高级句型或者不错的词汇短语,以为可以得高分,但最终结果出来后却与预想差距很大。主要的原因是很多细节没有注意。比如第三人称单数,名词的单复数,大小写,甚至标点、书写、段落安排等,这些细节问题也很重要。

最后:背诵阅读优秀的中学生的作文集

写作很容易在短时间内有大的飞跃,要做的就是积累一些经典的句型、地道的表达方式。可以背诵阅读优秀的中学生的作文集,把精彩的段落和句子抄下来并仿写,最后整理出几十个最常用、最精彩的表达法,写作文时有意识地想一想,总能用上几个。

附注:

1、选择生动准确的词

词是语言的基本单位,人们要表达思想,就要选择适当的词语,这是写作的基本要求。

词可分为一般概念的词(general words)和具体概念的词(specific words)。表示一般概念的词含义模糊;表示具体概念的词含义明确,表达准确,生动形象。写作时合理地使用具体概念的词能够使句子表达的意思准确,内容生动,更富有感染力。试比较下面各组句子:

(l) A few houses were destroyed yesterday (general)

Five houses burnt down yesterday (specific)

(2)His relatives gave him two gifts(general)

His aunt and uncle gave hima watch and a Pen as the birthday gifts。(specific)

(3) Jack went to the window and looked at the crowd outside(general)

Jack tiptoed to the window and peeped into the room(specific)

上面各组句中,第一个句子抽象概括,给人以空泛的感觉:第二个句子用词具体,有个件,使人感到意思确切,生动逼真。

2、使用英语成语和习语

人们在长期使用语言的过程中,积累了大量的习惯表达法。这些成语、习语内涵丰富,语言生动活泼。文章中适当地使用这类短语,可避免语言的单调贫乏,使句子生动而富于内涵。如:

(l)George has lost his social position since his business failed.

可改为:George has come down in the world since his business failed

(2).Maybe you have time to go to the cinema,but I have more importavt businessto attend to.

可改为:Maybe you have time to go to the cinema,but I have other fish to fry.

3、用词的宽度

用词的宽度可以反映出写作者所掌握的词汇量。如果一个人掌握的词汇量大,那么当表达同一概念有不同的表达方法时,则可以换一种说法。如:

The teachers maintained that the students should give up love for the sake ofleaming Students,however,hold that fordidding love among college students is nogood.

这两句话里,谓语分别用了maintain和hold。如果将它们换为think,所表达的意思相同,但用词宽度则不如原文。这两句话中for the sake of,give uP,is no good等都是用词宽度的表现。

所以在英语写作中有意识地适当增加用词宽度既能体现学以致用的原则又能使文章取得良好效果。

摘 要:新课标下的英语语法教学可以采用灵活多样的教学方法,调动学生学习语法的积极性,使学生的语法学习与语言的实际运用结合起来。

一、英语语法教学的重要性及英语语法教学现状

语法是联系词汇与句子的纽带,学习语法有利于培养学生正确理解英语和准确运用英语的能力。著名语言学家Wilkins曾这样描述语法的作用:“对一种语言语法体系的习得依然是语言学习中的一个重要环节。”

中国人学习英语主要是通过有意识的学习,英语语法规则可以帮助中国学生更好地掌握英语。但是,很多教师对语法教学存在一定的偏差。一部分教师片面理解新课程标准要求,很少讲解和分析语法知识。由于语法知识的传授严重不足,导致学生基础知识掌握不牢固。很多学生既不会用准确的英语进行口语表达,也不能写出没有语法错误的英语句子。另一部分教师由于面临着巨大的升学压力,他们虽然使用新教材,但采用传统的语法翻译法,以讲解语法知识为主,让学生死记硬背语法规则,致使学生对语法学习失去兴趣,英语语法课成了部分学生的休息课,学习效果可想而知。

二、再认识英语语法教学

张正东教授曾经指出,再认识语法教学,不能止于认识教学语法的必要性,也要认识到教学语法在内容和方式上应该有所改革。新颁布的《英语课程标准》明确指出:“此次英语课程改革的重点就是要改变英语教学过分强调语法和词汇知识的讲解与传授,忽视对学生实际语言运用能力的培养的倾向。”这里的“改变英语教学过分强调语法和词汇知识的讲解与传授”很显然并不是要我们放弃语法教学,而是要求我们改变以前的教学方法,采用能够激发学生学习语法兴趣的教学方法,将语法教学与听、说、读、写各项技能的培养融为一体,与语言的实际运用结合起来,让学生充分参与学习活动,调动他们的学习积极性。

三、新课程实施中的语法教学方法

(一)运用英文歌曲教授语法

用英语歌曲教语法指的是:教语法时,英语老师通过使用适当的英语歌曲及其歌词达到教学目标。

比如在学习一般将来时态时,我们可以利用《Lazy Mary》 这首歌帮助学生认知will 后加动词原形这种形式可以表示将要做某件事情。这首歌的歌词是 “lazy Mary, will you get up, will you get up ? Will you get up? no, no , mother, I won’t get up, I won’t get up, I won’t get up, I won’t get up today.”歌词中出现了由will 引导的一般将来时态的一般疑问句、否定句,歌词简单易学,不到三分钟的时间,学生就可学会这首歌。之后,教师稍微点拨一下歌词中出现的语法现象,加深学生对歌词的理解。然后,教师带着学生做“改歌词”的游戏,利用这首歌的旋律填写出另外一首歌。学生学习兴趣很浓,积极性会很高。

又如,在教授形容词比较等级时,用《 the more we get together , the happier we will be》这首歌。歌词旋律优美,朗朗上口,很受学生的欢迎。让学生带着任务学唱英文歌曲:填空“____ ___ we get together, ____ _____ we will be.”之后,把填空内容the more, the happier, 作为本节课的一个导入,效果也不错。

有时候,还可用听歌曲给歌词改错的方式来教授语法,如:在学习一般过去时态时,把《yesterday once more 》这首歌放给学生听,让学生在听的同时,把打印的`歌词中的错误找出来:“When I am young, I'd listen to the radio, waiting for my favorite songs. When they play I'd sing along. It makes me smile ”

用英语歌曲教语法,为语法提供了语境而不是孤立的句子和枯燥的规则。学生可以轻松地把歌曲印在自己的脑海里,从而记住歌曲中的词组和句型。通过唱歌激发兴趣,使学生在欢乐轻松的气氛中学习和掌握了语法知识。

(二)运用名言警句或谚语教学语法

在我们学习汉语时,老师总会精选一些经典文段让我们背诵,这种方法既能让我们记住这些经典段落,又能在我们写作时引用或是进行仿写。把这种方法迁移到英语语法教学中,效果会很好。如在学习比较等级时,把Two heads are better than one和Actions speak louder than words等谚语介绍给学生;在学习定语从句时,以谚语为例,帮助学生理解定语从句的结构:He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man. He who would do great things should not attempt them all alone;在学习too to do句型时,用It’s never too old to learn作为例句;在学not until 的用法时,让学生熟记“don’t trouble trouble until trouble troubles you”这个谚语。通过一段时间的实践发现,这种方法既新颖又典型,学生既记住了谚语或名言警句,又掌握了语法规则,可谓一举两得。

(三)运用直观教学法教授语法

1.以实物展现的直观教学法形象具体,能够让学生积极参与,给他们留下深刻印象,增强学生的学习兴趣。

例如:在教授新教材七年级(下)第一单元的there be 句型时,我拿了一个装饰得很漂亮的盒子走进了教室,里面放了一些书、橡皮、铅笔、杯子、纸、帽子、球、苹果等学生熟悉的实物。要

2.借助多媒体创设直观的教学情景。在英语语法教学中,多媒体的运用可以使教学活动集文字、声音、图像、动画等功能于一体,能为学生创造形象生动、图文并茂的英语交际情景,能最大限度地调动和激发学生的学习积极性和主动性,提高教学效率。

例如:在教授过去进行时态之前,用摄像机拍摄学生周五下午大扫除时的情景。在教授此时态时,首先说:At four o’clock last Friday afternoon, I was preparing my lessons, what were you doing at four last Friday afternoon? Maybe you can’t remember what you were doing, let’s watch a video”此时利用多媒体快速播放学生周五下午的那段视频。视频之所以快速播放,是为了让学生在之后的对话中觉得有必要询问。然后要求学生通过询问对周五下午四点时正在做什么,进行一个对话活动。在此基础上采访2~3名同学并做汇报。在本节课上,因为讨论的内容真实自然,贴近生活,学生学习兴趣很浓,效果不错。

3.运用游戏法教授语法。教学现在进行时态时,我们常用的一种方式就是让喜欢表演的同学上讲台前,老师耳语他一个指令,如“playing basketball”,让他做动作,请全班同学猜。在此游戏的前几轮表演中,老师可以指导学生向表演动作的同学提问,运用句型“What are you doing? Are you ?”后几次表演中,猜的同学须向老师提问,运用 What is he (she) doing? Is he (she) ?句型。喜欢表演的同学争先恐后上台表演,其他同学也踊跃发言,不知不觉中学生有意识地运用现在进行时态的句子结构,学会了表达。

4.利用、开发教材中的任务内容,创设不同教学情景教授语法。任务型教学法是新课标所倡导的新的教学理念,引导学生在完成任务的过程中“用中学,学中用”。清华大学英语系刘世生教授认为,情景教学就是通过设计出一些真实性和准真实性的具体场合的情形和景象,为语言功能提供充足的实例,并活化所教语言知识。情景和任务的结合,能够使学生在完成任务的过程中,将抽象的语法融入生活情景中,准确地理解、掌握不同语境与情景中语言的不同含义,从而激发学生学习的兴趣,调动学习的积极性,使教学达到最佳效果。

新目标英语教材中设计了许多任务型的活动,如表演、填写问卷,调查,访谈,书信等,使学生在“做事”的过程中学习语言知识与语法结构。有时候,我们还可以充分整合教材资源,再次开发教材中所给的任务,使之成为更有创意的情景,在课堂上起到更好的作用。

比如在学习八年级下册第9单元 《Have you ever been to an amusement park?》时,首先通过设计情景:下周成龙要到石家庄来,作为石家庄的主人,我们感到很荣幸能为成龙介绍石家庄。问学生石家庄有哪些地方可以介绍,通过呈现一组石家庄市区及周边的游玩地方的图片,组织学生按照1b 中的目标语言进行Pair work,然后请几组学生进行Role Play,在听完听力2a和2b后,将Self Check中的采访任务整合到这节课,并做适当调整,把采访同学调整为采访成龙,考察学生运用目标语言解决实际问题的能力,并创设了另一个情景:成龙刚来到石家庄,现在正召开记者见面会,接受石家庄小记者的采访。两位同学扮演成龙和其助手,两位同学当记者。通过运用2c 中的句型 Where have you been, Where do you want to go, How are you going there 来模拟现实中可能出现的情景,使学生身临其境,更深刻地理解本课主题: Have you ever been to …? 采访结束后,要求记者整理成龙的回答对班内同学做一汇报。该活动通过创设情景,让学生在运用中提高交际能力,在使用目标语言的同时生成具有实际意义的语言。

总之,针对不同的教学目标和教学内容,我们可以采用灵活多样的英语语法教学方法。只要我们敢于改进和创新我们的语法教学,学生学习语法的兴趣就一定能增强,学生的综合运用语言的能力就一定能得到提高。

一、英语写作的特点.

The characteristics of formal writing

1.名词化趋势

I do not eat much.-->I am a light eater.

The clock on the desk reminds me of time.-->I put a clock on the desk as a reminder of time.

We once cried, laughed and disappointed.-->There were moments of tears, moments of laughter, and moments of disappointment.

注意:名词化趋势的句子当然还有动词, 目的是尽量把表达句子中心意思的那个词汇用名词表达.符合英文的习惯.

2.无灵主语(区别于被动语态)

我们中文写作中,习惯以人做主语,而英文则相反,习惯以物做主格.

More and more young students studied further in the past two decades.

-->The past two decades witnessed a growing number of young students for further study.

Looking out of the window, you will have a nice view.

-->A glance out of the window offers you a nice view.

注意: 名词化趋势和无灵主语常常是相结合的.

3.被动语态

这一点大家比较熟悉,不详细讲.比如:

Great efforts should be made to…..

What can not be denied is that….

二、句式的写作:

Main features of English sentences:

1.长短句结合

Love is patient and kind. It is never jealous, boastful, proud or rude. It keeps no record of wrong that others do. It always protects, always fruits, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

一般来讲,总结性的句子应当使用短句,而说理的句子应用长句.

2.并列复合句

这种句子属于十分难写的句子,也举一个例子:

He who wants to save his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for me will save it.

3.单一复合句

也就是我们常说的各种从句,不再举例.

三、Variety of sentences:

1. ”-ing & -ed” groups

(1)Standing by the riverside, the Master sighed,” May time go on and on like this, never ceasing day and night.”

(2)Reviewing what one has learned and gaining new insights, one is fit to be a teacher.

(3)Compared with the tradition, modernity is more dynamic.

2. ”to do” groups

To spend too much time in study is sloth; to use them too much for ornaments is affectation; to make any judgment wholly by their rules is the humor of the scholar.

3. adverb

Simply, amazingly, absurdly, broadly, practically and so on

Intelligently applied to daily life, modern technology will surely bring benefits to the well-being of the human race.

4.介词短语

In pursuit of, in spite of (注意平时自己的收集)

In pursuit of excellence, ever pushing up the limit, life consists in the hope born of despair.

5.主语从句

What China needs is not more morals, but more prisons for politicians.

句子的变化还有 It is self-evident(adj) that…….和There be 这样的句子

6.倒装

(1)将一些否定性含义的副词和短语在句首,用倒装会使句子生色不少.

Never before has such a high standard been achieved.

Hardly had he arrived when she started complaining.

(2)为使描绘更加生动,与介词同形的副词可以移动到句首,而把主语放到谓语后面去.

Following the roar, out rushed a tiger from the bushes.

In came a pretty girl he had never seen before.

四、插入语

插入语可以是一个小词,也可以是一个同谓语的形式.

1.先看一个小技巧:(对there be 句型均有效)

There is, recently, a debate amongst educators that……

通俗的讲,在老外眼里,主语与谓语离的越远,句子的档次越高.

2.插入语后面再接上一个定语从句;

Direct experience, a necessary means to recognize the world, which differs from knowledge acquired from books, is a major step to the cognitive world.

再看几个同谓语从句的例子:

1.Television, one of the most pervasive and persuasive technologies, marked by the rapid growth and drastic change, has a profound impact on people’s lives.

2.Courage, a basic quality that every human being is supposed to possess when facing a dilemma, is highly cherished among young people.

3. Convention, generally accepted practice especially with regard to social behavior, has now been increasingly challenged.

平时要多积累这样的句型,使之变成自己的语言.

Tip:对同谓语的解释尽量宽泛一些,有利于句子的拉长.

对于入语加定语从句开头.

就是说:将题目中的中心词拿出来,进行宽泛的解释.

这一方法对很大一部分的考题都是有效的.
