天水东柯草堂：东柯谷"杜甫草堂"，位于天水市麦积区甘泉镇柳河村。据《元一统志》、《古董锁记》、《雍大记》等史载始建于北宋哲宗绍圣（1094—1097）年间，距今900多年了，历经宋、元、明、清。明代崇祯末年（公元1644年）毁于兵火，后重建。同治七年（公元1868年）再遭兵毁，毁坏殆尽，之后又加修葺。
首先我们看到，作为"诗圣"，世界文化名人，杜甫的影响相当广远。他的经历，成为人们认识历史、了解祖国河山的一条独特途径，在这方面，他的陇右诗尤为突出。唐代陇右的历史资料散布于《新唐书》、《旧唐书》、《元和郡县志》等几部史志中，一鳞半爪，很不完备，所记只是战事、灾荒等内容，而杜甫陇右诗的大部分篇章，则直接记写了秦州的政治、军事、经济、文化、民族等多方面的状况。

陇右地处边塞，秦州一带胡汉杂居，处于中原文明的边缘地带，唐王朝在文化上采取的兼容开放政策，使这里成了胡汉文化交流融汇的大舞台，而独特的地理环境所造就的民族浑融和文化多元的环境与不时出现的边烽紧急情势杜甫在诗中都有形象的描绘。居民之杂、物产之异、风俗之奇、地气之殊，一一可览；驿道关隘、烽燧军檄、使节边将、胡人胡物，历历在目。
杜甫在寓居陇右期间，还用大量的诗篇描绘了独特的陇右自然风貌，记述了特定历史时代的人文景观，呈现出了显明的地域文化色彩。

乾元二年十月，杜甫离开秦州前往同谷（今甘肃成县），同年十二月一日又由同谷南下成都，前后历时三个月，这期间写了两组共二十四首纪行诗，其中陇右一段有十六首：《发秦州》、《赤谷》、《铁堂峡》、《盐井》、《寒峡》、《法镜寺》、《青阳峡》、《龙门镇》、《石龛》、《积草岭》、《泥功山》、《凤凰台》、《发同谷县》、《木皮岭》、《白沙渡》、《水会渡》。这两组纪行诗的一个突出特点就是它的实录性。各组除第一首外，均以行程地名为题，突出了时空的连续性。所写的是只有在当地才能见到的山川、风土、人情，完全是实地、实景、实情的抒写，而不是象谢灵运和盛唐山水诗那种理想之境和共有之景的表述。他们的"与众不同"之处，就是写出了山水的"个性"。所写峡谷、山岭、石台、古镇、崖寺、渡口，各具神态。它们无一不显示出各自特有的景致，独具的风貌，它们只属于陇右。
杜甫的诗作描绘山区的自然景致，记写边城的人文景观，或清新明丽、或箫瑟疏凉、或壮阔幽远、或奇险峻峭，展现了不同于平原地区的边塞风光。让人惊心动魄，又赏心悦目，既感神奇莫测，又觉自然舒展。这类诗在陇右诗作中比比皆是。对一个地方进行如此全面而集中的记述，这是前所未有的。杜甫的诗作使历史上无人专门咏写过的陇右山川风物得到了全景式的`描绘，把陇右神奇独特的风貌展示在了世人面前，具有开创性的意义。精辟地指出了杜甫的流寓及诗作对陇右扬名于世的独特的贡献和重要作用。即如《山寺》一诗，是古代诗人中最早咏写麦积山的诗作，秦州胜景南郭寺则借助杜甫的诗作名扬四方，不少人就是吟诵着"山头南郭寺，水号北流泉。老树空庭得，清渠一邑传"等杜甫陇右诗句了解秦州，走进陇右的。
同时，我们看到，杜甫的陇右诗对陇右文化艺术的拓展、延伸提供了一个充盈丰富的"武库"。书法、绘画、音乐等诸多领域都从杜甫陇右诗中"猎宝"，创造出了许多新的艺术价值非凡的珍品，为陇右文化增添了新的光彩。
杜甫诗意画历来为画坛名家所看重，研习摩绘，源远流长。国画大师徐悲鸿在所绘的诗意画中，精心挑选了杜甫陇右诗中的《佳人》和《秦州杂诗二十首》的第五首予以描摩，对诗意画的创作产生了很大影响，其传达的神韵，其意义甚至超出了绘画本身。被徐悲鸿题为《立马》的这幅画作，取材于《秦州杂诗二十首》其五，原诗为："南使宜天马，由来万匹强。浮云连阵没，秋草遍山长。闻说真龙种，仍残老骕骦。哀鸣思战斗，迥立向苍苍。"画中一匹骏马昂首挺立，威风凛凛，势不可挡。这幅画是1943年徐悲鸿写赠少帅张学良的，其时徐悲鸿居贵阳，张学良因"西安事变"被禁闭在贵州桐梓。款识中徐悲鸿摘录了杜甫这首诗的末二句"哀鸣思战斗，迥立向苍苍"，落"汉卿先生教之。壬午岁尽。悲鸿贵阳客中写少陵诗。"这幅作于抗战期间的《立马》，寓意深远，耐人寻味。秦州宝马"哀鸣思战斗，迥立向苍苍"的英勇气概体现了强烈的民族精神，感召力至今不衰。
杜甫的陇右诗还登上了音乐殿堂，而且走出了国门。1980—1984年，原苏联作曲家捷尔尼科夫选取杜甫诗19首，谱成了两部大型合唱套曲，并于1986年由原苏联国立室内乐合唱团隆重上演。在这19首诗中，《梦李白》、《促织》等陇右诗作入列其内。透过这些诗作，异国他邦的人们也领略了杜甫的陇右情思和陇右文化的绵远意蕴，这是杜甫对陇右文学和文化的又一贡献。

A retired teacher received many letters from his former students, one of which was read as not only a thank-you note for his inspirational teaching in his mathematical class, but a warm comfort for his poor physical condition.
Reading the passage, I’m touched and link my memory to the most supportive mentor of my own -- Mr. Xu, an experienced Chinese teacher, was in charge of my class in Senior Three. As the senior year is characterized by running a tight schedule on everyday basis, we students were loaded with heavy coursework, frequent quiz and exams, and pressured by our parents’ high expectations. Is Watching TV a Good Thing
Television has changed people's life much since it was invented. Now it has become an important part of modem life.

Use of Free Time

Li Ming and I took part in a wilderness survival program yesterday,which has become an unforgettable experience.
Yesterday morning we wore strong and comfortable shoes, carried backpacks with the necessities in them and went to the mountain. We climbed a hill. On the top we saw a direction mark, which told us where to go. Down the hill, we came to a river. There were no boats but we had to cross it. Luckily, both of us had learned how to swim. But we shouldn't make our things in the backpacks wet. Seeing a piece of board, I got an idea. We put our backpacks on the board and swam in the water pushing the board. When getting to the other bank, with the compass we found north in which direction we walked half an hour. Finally, we arrived at the campsite. We set up a tent and made a bonfire.
The two of us spent the night in the forest.
We learned to use knowledge gained in classroom training to solve problems. It was quite an experience for both of us, which I'll never forget for the rest of my life.
